Eh... just read my 100 Things About Me
I'm between gigs right now, but I should start working in a box office in a small DC theater by the beginning of March.
Do you do any non-knitting writing>
Yep.
Oh, you want to read it? Available on the internet is my old memory blog Cabbage Patches and Koalas, and my review blog Ripping Things to Shreds.
Can I get your phone number?
Um... No.
Knitting Goddess #9? What's that about?
Well, there are two books I like, The Knitting Goddess, by Deborah Bergman, and Girl Goddess #9, by Francesca Lia Block. I was mulling over blog titles and couldn't get either out of my head.
I also really like saying "number nine." It sounds cool.
There's also that cheesy movie, Love Potion #9, as well as the song.
And then there's the fact that knitting is very spiritual for me. It's a daily meditation. I'm not a member of the Church of Craft, but I understand where they're coming from. Creating is a beautiful thing, whether it's with words or yarn or a drop spindle or a block of wood and a hammer.
And I'm Pagan and pretty darned polytheistic. I made constant jokes in my computer science classes that programmers really needed a patron god/saint to pray to, since they spent so much frustrating time doing all kinds of futzing and praying. (Someone recommended Alan Turing, but I don't think they took me seriously) And since there's a lot of futzing and praying and attempting to fix and hoping I wanted to create my own personal knitting goddess. And I think I kind of have.
Funny thing is, she looks a lot like me.
